The Start of French Imperialism:
The basis of French Imperialism was that there were mostly 3 reasons why France imperialized Indochina.Part of the Indochina Empire once spread all the way to northern and western Africa, so their empire was pretty large in size.Vietnam had rice resources of rice, coffee, tea, and rubber. The French takeover on Indochina was a long and slow take over that lasted around 30 years. The positive impacts on an imeperialized country were that economics grew based on the cash crops, education, heath, and sanitation improved, new goods were produced, and Indochina became a melting pot of religion. The negative impacts on a imperialized country were that colonized people had little rights and had to follow France's rules, people in Indochina were not allowed to have their own rice that they grew, there was an increase in nationalism and racism, and old traditions were left behind because of French imperialism from the mid 19th to mid 20th centuries. The Nguyen Emperors remained as figure heads since the start of the 1800's.The Conquest of Cochinchina (1862) was really the first event that really took place on French imperialism.Can Vuong Movement (1885-1889), 40,000 participated in the movement. The result was 1/3 of those that rebelled were killed.The whole spread of Vietnamese Imperialism went from 1867 to 1940, until Adolf Hitler took over France in WWII.In WWI however, 50,000 troops were sent out to fight, only 20,000 returned though. Indochina gained independence in 1954 because of its communist revolution. One of the most significant leaders on Indochina was Ho Chi Minh. Born in 1890, he was the son of an Imperial Office Holder, he left Vietnam in 1912, and he formed the Indochinese Communist Party in 1930.The Interwar Era was when Indochina formed a huge revolt over French Imperialism. In WWII, France lost Indochina and Japan took over Indochina five months before the Pearl Harbor bombing. In 1945 Vietnam was divided by China and Great Britain. An agreement one tear later said that French had a "communist representation".This lead up to iconic events such as the Korean War, the Red Scare, and even the Vietnam War. The current umemployment rate in Vietnam was recorded as 1.3% in 2013. The poverty rate has slowly been decreasing since the 1990's. the GDP capita was recorded as $358.9 million in 2013. Major industries for Vietnam are food processing, garments, shoes, machine building, mining coal, making steel, cement, chemical, fertilizer, glass, tires, oil, and mobile cell phones. The economic classes are that if your in a higher cass, than you had an oppression. However if you were in a lower type of class, you were inflicted with hardship and suffering. In the politics group, the different types of groups involved are the Kinh (85.7%), Tay (1.9%), Thai (1.8%), Muong (1.5%), Khmer ( 1.5%), Mung (1.2%), Nung (1.1%), and others were counted as 5.3% in 1999. Indochina is not involved in any world conflicted. with another country right now. Citizens are very active participants in what on in their country and they will participate in anything including war. The human rights status right now as of 2014, the rights to humans have increased since last year. The number of elderly people has increased over the years, so their is a big need for healthcare. And as well as different types of medicine and healthcare.
